This course is designed to instruct qualified reflexology practitioners in the safe use of advanced techniques of spinal reflexology. You will learn how to treat clients who are suffering from a range of conditions related to the spine.

Developed from a fusion of reflexology and chiropractic theories, the course includes techniques of assessment of skeletal alignment through the positioning of the feet. The course also covers techniques of reflexology which include working on nerve points, pelvic and vertebral alignment, and muscular spasms.

This course is suitable for: qualified reflexology practitioners.

In 2007 Judith joined the team at the centre for complementary therapies at Cardiff Metropolitan University as the reflexology module leader and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2011. She has a particular interest in the research field and holds a Masters in Research Methods. As part of Judiths lecturing role she supervises final year undergraduates preparing their dissertation research projects and is involved in the methodological design of studies into reflexology and other complementary therapies

During the teaching sessions students will work on each other, assessing their own and others’ skeletal alignment prior to and after advanced spinal reflexology treatment. At the end of this thoroughly interesting and enjoyable day you will be able to:

  • Assess the skeletal alignment of a client prior to and after a reflexology treatment.
  • Understand the benefits and implications of advanced spinal reflexology for different types of back pain.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of research into reflexology and back pain
  • Demonstrate an awareness of acupressure points for pain linked with spinal issues
