The splitter is the one who by trade breaks and fragments some protoddi and materials. The stone splitter uses both mechanical and manual tools to crush stones for different functions and objectives. Often this term also refers to the figure of the wood splitter, a machine used to split a log or a large piece of wood pre-cut into sections, usually by a chainsaw or on a cutting table. Most log splitters consist of a hydraulic or electric piston, and these are often rated by the tons of pressure they can generate. The higher the nominal pressure, the greater the thickness or length of the piece of wood that can be split. Most household log splitter models have a pressure rating of around 10 tons, but professional hydraulic models can also exert over 25 tons of pressure. There are also manual log splitters, which use a mechanical lever to force pieces of wood through a set of sharp blades, and log splitters that are driven directly by the power of an agricultural tractor, where the splitter is mounted with a three-point hitch. A simple log splitter can be powered by an electric motor connected to a hydraulic, petrol or diesel pump, with or without a tractor. The non-electric versions can also be used directly in woods and forests, and the pieces of split wood can then be loaded onto trucks and trailers. cfc Regardless of what the energy source is, a log splitter can use either a hydraulic ram to guide the piece of wood through a fixed blade, or a cone-shaped spindle that pushes the wood onto a wedge. Some models have guides that prevent the split wood from falling to the ground, allowing the operator to quickly reposition the split pieces for a second pass through the blades.
