About this course

Gain knowledge and understanding of how scientific methods can be used in sport, exercise, and health.

There are opportunities to study abroad at one of our partner universities with the possibility of funding through the Erasmus programme.

From two A levels or equivalent BTEC National qualifications one of which must be in Physical Education, Sport Studies or a Science subject (such as Applied Science Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Psychology). We do not accept General Studies. For example:•BBC at A Level including relevant subject(s).•DMM in BTEC Extended Diploma in a relevant subject(s).•A combination of qualifications including relevant subject(s) which may include AS levels or EPQ.

Applied learning

Work placements

You will have the opportunity to arrange a year-long work placement in between your second and third years. This gives you a real-world experience to prepare you for your future career. Previous students have worked as strength and conditioning coaches, applied sports scientists, cardiac rehabilitation assistants, physical activity referral specialists and as a performance analyst for a professional sports team. Many of our students choose to complete their placement aboard at a range of sporting organisations around the world.
