About this course
As a graduate of this course you will be able to:
use a range of specialist equipment and technologies and scientific methods relevant to sport and exercise science
understand and apply the latest sport and exercise science information and techniques
use a range of media to communicate effectively to a range of audiences, e.g. regionally, nationally and internationally
be creative in identifying and solving problems in a variety of academic, work and research settings
utilise key and subject specific skills to gain entry to postgraduate level study in sport and exercise sciences and graduate level employment.

Course programme
In the first year you will be introduced to the various scientific approaches to examining sport and exercise performance. As you do this you will build a range of research skills that will help you develop research project ideas and understand what is written about the subject. These skills will be further developed in your second year as you build your applied sport and exercise science knowledge, specifically in exercise physiology, biomechanics and sport & exercise psychology.
In your final year, you will undertake an independent project enabling you to investigate an area of your choice, with an opportunity to specialise in two of the three sport and exercise science disciplines: applied biomechanics, exercise physiology and sport & exercise psychology.
You will also receive training in improving your subject specific knowledge and applying practical skills.
