Course programme

Year 1

This programme has a variety of units to challenge the learner in all aspects of the sport and active leisure industry. Units include: taking part in sport; planning own fitness programme; sport project and physical activities for children. You will also be required to study Functional Skills in English and maths.


Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance. A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 1/2 (E/F/G) or above is required. Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19, who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

Additional information

All units on this course are assessed solely through ongoing coursework. This could involve written essays, presentations, verbal interview or practical assessment.
