About this course

Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance. A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 3 (D) or above is required, plus 2 additional GCSE subjects at Grade 3 (D) or above.



Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19 who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

Course programme

Year 1

Throughout the course you will study a range of units such as Anatomy and Physiology; Fitness for Sport; Practical Team Sport; and designing exercise programmes. There is also a requirement that you undertake work experience with a relevant employer.

You will also be required to study GCSE Maths/English alongside your main coursed if you do not achieve a grade 4 or higher.

Additional information

Assessment will take place via a variety of methods, with some units being external exams whilst others are practical assessment, assignments, presentations etc.
