3. Entry requirements 4 GCSEs grade A*-C, including Maths and English or equivalent, a good reference and a satisfactory interview. 4. Equipment required A charge of approximately £350 will be required for off-site visits, equipment and uniform if you are doing this course.Financial assistance may be available for students who qualify. Students should contact Customer Services at the college for further details and a bursary application form.This 2 year course consists of Year 1: consists of a 90 credit programme after which students will enrol onto Year 2 and complete a full BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma ensuring progression to University level courses, higher apprenticeships or employment. Students who leave after successfully completing Year 1 with a BTEC 90 Credit Diploma (which is equivalent to 1 ½ A levels) can use this qualification to support progression into employment or further training. 5. Assessment method Assessment is primarily by portfolio building but will include some practical assessments and presentations. There is a substantial amount of theory which is backed up by practical pathways.Students are provided with extensive support from lecturers as well as from an Academic Advisor, in order to complete their assessments. They may also have workshop allocated time in which to plan and complete assessed activities. Students may be requested to complete additional work at home from time to time, however they are asked to use college time effectively. The 'Learning Resource Centre' is available to enhance research and studying and electronic resources are available online.
