MAC X233 (3) Calculus for Business and Non-Physical Sciences
STA X023 (3) Business Statistics

* Students taking CGS X100 or other approved course will also need to take CGS 2518 at FSU.

Admission Requirements to the Upper-Division Major
Admission to the limited access business programs requires the following:
1) completion of at least 52 semester hours;
2) a cumulative grade point average on all college work attempted of at least 2.90; and
3) satisfactory completion of all required prerequisite coursework.

Requirements

Major Program of Studies at FSU: (49-52 hours depending on if CGS 2518 was taken as a prerequisite course or not)
Courses taken at a Community College may not be substituted for 3000/4000 level courses.

Lower-Division Requirements (4 hours)
These courses are Term 5 milestones. Transfer students must complete them in their first term of enrollment at FSU.

General Business Core Requirements for Risk Management/Insurance majors (18 hours)
A grade of C minus or better must be earned in each course:

General Business Breadth Requirements for Risk Management/Insurance Majors (9 hours)
Each course selected must be completed with a grade of C minus or better:

Complete the following three (3) courses:
REE 3043 (3) Real Estate
RMI 3011 (3) Risk Management/Insurance
MAN 4720 (3) Strategic Management and Business Policy

Major Area Requirements for Risk Management/Insurance Majors (18 hours)
All risk management/insurance majors must complete the six courses listed below. A grade of C minus or better must be earned in each course used to satisfy the risk management/insurance major area requirements.

RMI 4115 (3) Life and Health Insurance Products
RMI 4224 (3) Property and Casualty Insurance Products
RMI 4292 (3) Property and Casualty Insurance Operations
RMI 4347 (3) Commercial Risk Management

Plus two (2) electives from the following list of courses:
RMI 4135 (3) Employee Benefit Plans
RMI 4295 (3) Advanced Property and Liability Insurance
RMI 4308 (3) Wealth Management
RMI 4420 (3) Legal Aspects of Insurance
RMI 4941 (3) Risk Management/Insurance Internship

Students should consult with their advisor when selecting major area electives.


Computer Skills Competency: (0 hours beyond prerequisites) CGS 2100 (3) and/or CGS 2518 (3).
Either may be taken for admission. CGS2518 is a required course for graduation in the RMI major.


Oral Communication Competency: (0 beyond major requirements)
Students must demonstrate the ability to orally transmit ideas and information clearly. Business majors complete GEB 3213.
