Additional information

Course Information This course introduces you to the core areas of psychology and considers the application of these areas within the sporting environment, from grassroots football to Olympic level competition. Students on this course will be taught by experienced lecturers and practitioners, in modern facilities and specialist laboratories, investigating contemporary issues including; why some athletes ‘choke’ when under pressure, how arousal and anxiety can impact upon performance, and whether international athletes are born or made. This programme is developed with an individual’s future career in mind, and will allow students to gain an insight in to what it is like to work with clients as an aspiring sport psychologist. Additionally, students can also develop a blend of transferable skills through a variety of teaching and assessment methods, complemented by professional work placements during years one and two. This unique approach to learning will enable you to apply aspects of learning in the real world, ensuring that subject-specific as well as more general employability skills, are developed along the way.  Read our full course terms and conditions. BPS logo
