Central to this course is the belief that coaching theory and knowledge only become relevant when applied in practice. The course is designed to ensure that students develop a strong theoretical and practical foundation within the field of sport coaching and sport science. This is the first step to developing individuals who are effectively prepared to practice as competent and confident professionals, who can make sound decisions, problem solve and provide a consistent and high standard of evidence-based practice. Central to this course is the belief that coaching theory and knowledge only become relevant when applied in practice and hence there will be a strong focus on the practical application of both coaching and scientific knowledge. Students will be required to keep a portfolio of evidence of the application of knowledge throughout the course.
