This course looks at the causes of injury in sport and the role of the podiatrist. The aim of this module is to take the practitioner's knowledge of general biomechanics into the sport aspects in greater detail and is an excellent follow on from the Introductory Biomechanics Course. It looks at gait cycle both in walking and running, axes of motion, Windlass Mechanism, rocker theory, sagittal plane motion, the biomechanics of running, sports footwear and the more common lower limb sporting injuries.
