Content

Sport is one of the most popular and expanding specialisms within journalism. Most national newspapers devote at least 10 per cent of their space to sport. We expect our students to be dedicated to a career in sports journalism and for them to see practice-based education as the route to that goal.

This new course focuses on current practice, concepts and issues that underpin sports journalism, such as the social, ethical, commercial, and cultural issues affecting worldwide sport, together with appropriate enterprise skills. The course will draw on the burgeoning world of new media, covering broadcast and electronic journalism alongside more traditional print platforms. Guest speakers and practising journalists will teach the majority of the curriculum.

Dedication

2 years, part-time.
