Sports Science - BSc (Hons)

This course provides a scientific understanding of a variety of different aspects of exercise and sport, with an emphasis on human body function. You will develop a sound understanding of underlying scientific principles, for example of physiology, metabolism and psychology, principles which are then applied to explain practical aspects of sports and exercise, including training, fitness assessment, elite performance and the challenges of extreme environments.

While the central theme of the course emphasises structure and function of the human body, the curriculum as a whole aims to be holistic and includes opportunities for studying topics such as sports psychology, coaching science, and sports sociology.

Added value: 85% of students were in work/study six months after finishing the course (2013 National Student Survey).
