If you're interested in the physical, physiological and biomechanical development of sports performers and teams - and you want to work at the highest level of performance sport - this course is ideal for you.
You will gain a full honours degree - with the same skills as a typical three year course - in just two years. This means you'll reduce the overall cost of gaining your degree and enter employment or postgraduate study quickly. You'll need to commit to accelerated learning in order to succeed.
You will enhance your learning experience through a combination of on campus and blended learning. You'll get to use our brand new strength and conditioning facility, our £1 million biomechanics facility and our comprehensive physiology facility. Our close links with industry help to enhance your experience on this course and help increase your employability and will offer opportunities to complete your required 150-hour work placement.

To incorpórate the standards of the UK's leading professional PR body, the CIPR [Chartered Institute of Public Relations], in its syllabus for the Advanced Certifícate in Public Relations 3. To combine theoretical and practical elements as a constant dialogue focusing on real-world sports PR and measure progress and achievement through assessment of academic and vocational performance 4. To blend traditional core communication skills with the knowledge and techniques necessary to capitalise on the multi-media mix of modern PR operations 5. To offer Windows of insight and opportunity through guest lecturers from the sports PR industry, visits to sports PR operations, work placements and real-world project briefs designed by sports PR professionals 6. To inspire students to see their studies as a part of a life-long learning experience and to recognise the valué of their Communications expertise, transferable knowledge and skills essential to a huge range of enterprises, businesses and organisations. What is distinctive about this programme? BA [Hons] Sports PR/Journalism is recognised by the CIPR [Chartered Institute of Public Relations] and has a strong emphasis on the practical applications of Public Relations and Journalism as well as an emphasis on the theory of PR combined with an academic reflection on the history, nature and context of journalism. At Staffordshire University, you will be taught in all of these áreas of discipline by professionals who understand the theories and have considerable experience of appiying and testing those theories in the professional workplace. You will learn to utilise this experience and knowledge to guide you through the course. Lecturers on the Sports PR/Journalism award at Staffordshire University traditionally have cióse professional relationships with students. That is to say, tutors maintain an open-door policy whenever possible, with individual tutorial times built-in to many modules, to enable students to gain individual feedback, to ask questions, and to seek guidance/clarity on assignments and issues relating to Public Relations and Journalism.
