The Foundation Degree in Sports Studies is designed to meet the growing demand for advanced vocational training in the sports industry. The vocational theme and academic credentials of the foundation degree ties in successfully with large scale sporting/employment opportunities such as those arising from the London 2012 Olympic Games. The demand for high quality staff with relevant expertise remains important both before and after the Games in the many diverse areas within the sports industry including sports coaching, sports development and exercise fitness. Students gain both practical experience and an academic qualification that helps to support movements into management positions within the sports sector. You will build on previous knowledge and experience through the use of embedded work-based learning within the sports industry and schools.
