About the course Over % of this course focuses on developing your practical skills so you become a confident, competent and professional clinician in today’s sports therapy environment; from the NHS to private clinics, sports clubs and teams or in your own business. Study human anatomy, physiology, pathology and clinical management skills, sports science, biomechanics and psychology. Practise your clinical skills in our in-house sports massage clinics, and externally within sports clubs, teams, local hospitals and clinics, and undertake an independent research project in your final year. Graduates can become level 4 members of the Sports Massage Association (SMA).

The majority of the course will focused on developing your practical skills so you become a confident, competent and professional clinician. The course places a strong emphasis on combining practical skills with theory (ranging from human anatomy, through physiology, pathology, clinical management skills, sports science, and biomechanics to psychology).

You will have the opportunity to be taught by an expert and dynamic team of research-active health and sports science professions.

Not only will you learn to use contemporary research evidence to underpin your clinical reasoning but in your second and third years, you will have an opportunity to design and execute a piece of original research.

The theoretical and practical knowledge that you will gain on this course, combined with the research and wider academic skills taught, will equip you well for employment in the Sports Therapy Industry and beyond and for further studies should you wish.
