This course, accredited by the Society of Sports Therapists (SST), will help you gain the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to go on to a career in sports therapy. You’ll learn to assess, treat and rehabilitate athletes with sports injuries or dysfunction, and will gain a broad scientific background.

As well as developing your understanding of the management of sports injuries, you’ll also gain clinical competence thanks to a combination of practical classes and work-based learning. You can gain experience in our on-site clinic, which offers treatment to members of the public, as well as through placements with our extensive network of industry contacts.

Our excellent teaching staff include academic leader Nick Gardiner, who has written for a prestigious sports medicine publication.

You’ll also find this network useful in progressing your career after graduation. We have strong links with a number of renowned sporting organisations and professional bodies both within London and around the world.

About this course

This was the world’s first Sports Therapy degree and was developed in partnership with the Society of Sports Therapists. You’ll learn to recognise, treat and rehabilitate athletes with injuries or dysfunction. Our fully equipped sports therapy clinic, which is open to members of the public for consultation and treatment, gives you hands-on experience to complement the scientific learning.

Previous students have gone on to work for organisations such as Arsenal FC and Chelsea FC.

This course received a 95% overall student satisfaction score in the National Student Survey 2020.

a minimum of 104 UCAS points from a relevant Level 3 qualification e.g. A Levels, BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma/Diploma; or Advanced Diploma; or Progression Diploma; or Access to HE Diploma with 60 credits
GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/grade 4 or above (or equivalent)

This course is accredited by the Society of Sports Therapists (SST), which provides student insurance throughout your degree. On graduation, you will be eligible to become a member and purchase public liability insurance from the SST.

Years 1 and 2 include Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) accredited content, which means you can go on to complete your REPS Level 2 and 3 qualification at a heavily subsidised rate.
