It is just over 150 years since Charles Spurgeon founded the College. We continue today with the same generous evangelical vision that prompted him to start the College in the first place. People smile when I talk of Spurgeon's College training “attractive, evangelical” ministers and leaders for the twenty-first century. It is the word ‘attractive’ that raises the smile.By ‘attractive’ I mean men and women who will attract others to the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is was what Spurgeon had in mind throughout his remarkable ministry which attracted thousands of people to his church in London. Our intention is to see people prepared for a ministry that will be evangelical to its core and relevant to the challenges and opportunities that our modern culture offers.
