This course will allow you to explore and make your own stained glass artefact. The course is taught by a qualified and practising Stained Glass professional who will guide you through the stages of planning and creating your own beautiful panel.At the start of the course the tutor will discuss with you any previous knowledge, skills and interests you have in this area and you will have the opportunity to consider your own expectations and outcomes and explore paint, stain, enamel and etching.

This course is suitable for learners of all abilities and no previous experience is necessary. Experienced learners will be encouraged to create projects that will develop their understanding of the medium, and learners new to the area.

Course programme



You will be fully supported with your work by the tutor. The tutor will demonstrate new techniques and encourage you to discuss the work and ask questions. The tutor will use demonstration, observation, practical and class discussions.

Topics covered will include:• Health and safety, Design, Cut line, Cartoon, Glass cutting• Hot glass – paint and stain, Leading processes• Copper foil processes• Soldering techniques• Care of tools, Cementing, Patinas, Polishing• Stained glass origins and artists



The progression of this course will encourage you to explore more complex stained glass designs. You may like to try another Art and Craft course. Courses available include Watercolor Painting, Drawing, Oil Painting and Floristry. All details can be found on the website.

Additional information

What I need for the first session -A fine point Sharpie available from most Supermarkets, pen, pencil and paper. Wear old clothes or bring an apron, and please wear shoes which cover the feet, no open toe sandals.
