the stereotypist is the one who observes and studies stereotypes which in psychology are any type of opinion rigidly pre-established and generalized, not acquired on the basis of a direct experience but which do not take into account the evaluation of individual cases on people or social groups. It is an abstract and schematic concept that can also have a neutral meaning. The stereotype is a simplified and persistent subjective characteristic applied to a place, an object, an event or to a recognizable group of people sharing certain characteristics or qualities. It is an abstract and schematic concept that can have a neutral meaning (eg the stereotype of Christmas with snow and a burning fireplace), positive ("the French are romantic") or negative (the association between drug use and rock music) and, in this case, sometimes reflects the opinion of one social group about other groups. Stereotype (even "positive") is an ingrained belief that can be changed through education and / or familiarization. Sometimes the stereotype is a caricature or an inversion of some positive characteristics possessed by the members of a group, exaggerated to the point of becoming detestable or ridiculous. Some groups have tried, out of deliberate political strategy, to develop new positive stereotypes about themselves. The cliché is an opinion (not necessarily "true") or a concept whose diffusion, recurrence or familiarity determine its obviousness or immediate recognition. In literature it is called topos and indicates the recurrence of a theme in an author or in a literary or artistic genre. The term derives from the Latin locus communis, the square (the forum), where people met and conversed.
