Suitable for: Any social care staff working with children and families within Cardiff or the Vale from Police, Health, Education, Probation, Social Services, Commissioned Providers, or any other agency working within the C&V boundaries.

Those attending MUST have an understanding of the Children Act and what the term significant harm means and an
understanding of child protection processes and have had experienced of working within this area of practice.

- Explore the value base underpinning this area of work “who is the client” “who’s needs are paramount”?;
- To gain a greater understanding to what constitutes significant harm and when this has been crossed;
- To gain a greater understanding / awareness of the impact of substance misuse on parenting and when this crosses the line into child protection and significant harm;
- To explore effective joint working in family focussed interventions.
