About this course

Candidates must be employed or volunteering in a supporting role within a school. We recommend that students work for a minimum of 10 hours per week. It may also be necessary to extend this time to gather additional evidence to meet the standards.

Course Overview
This updated qualification replaces the Teaching Assistants' NVQ. It is a course for those who support learning and teaching in the classroom and who wish to gain a nationally recognised qualification.

Course Structure
This programme runs for 33 weeks.
The NVQ Level 2 is a seven-unit qualification, consisting of five mandatory units plus two optional units. This course will be held in the Professional Development Centre.

NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants.

Assessments/Examinations
The course is assessment based and requires students to compile a portfolio of evidence.

Cost / Equipment £450, materials and registration included.

You will need a folder plus a pen and paper.

Free tuition is available to those in receipt of certain means tested benefits or to their un-waged dependants.
