BSc (Ord) and BSc (Hons) Sustainable Construction

Course Overview
Our innovative Sustainable Construction programme mixes traditional Construction subjects as well as modules surrounding Sustainable Development within the Construction setting. Sustainable development looks at resource use that meets human needs while preserving the environment so that these needs can be met not only in the present, but also for future generations.

The continued development and regeneration of towns and cities in the UK is expected to lead to a continuous demand for suitably qualified professionals.

As clients have become more concerned with the environment - construction methods have had to change. When University Centre at Blackburn College was built construction workers had to introduce new technlogy : rainwater harvesting, ground-source heat pumps and many other green features into their work.
