About this course
Our MSc in Sustainable Retirement Investment and Management invites you to challenge conventional models of retirement provision, while aiming to ensure transition to a sustainable future. The transition to a post-industrial society requires vital tools for civil society to manage the change, a field of inquiry you will actively engage with. Those all-important tools have not been forthcoming to date, with a lack of leadership from both politicians and academics. You will focus on environmental, economic and social sustainability, and how that can be achieved through changes in institutional governance. A specific area of importance in questioning how society transitions to a sustainable post-industrial society will be to analyse how concepts are applied to real-world practices, for example to assess the impact of government regulation on companies and organisations. You will gain a strong knowledge of the pensions industry, including occupational schemes, the role of government in retirement provision, and the nature of investment in retirement provision.
