There are no extra costs, but a memory stick to transport your work is advised. A home computer will allow you to work from home.
The Programme
A practical course based around PC hardware and networking. You will also study general computing skills and an introduction to games programming. As well as practical skills you will need to prepare detailed reports on your work.
The Programme Content
E-Quals System Support - Maintaining Computer Systems, Customer Support, System Testing, Equipment and Software Installation.
European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) - Word Processing, Databases, Spreadsheets, Presentations etc.
iMedia Level 2 Games Programming - Games Design and Programming.
Key Skills/Functional Skills Communication.
Progression / Careers
This is an intermediate course and we advise you to continue studying to Level 3. Options include National Diploma Computing, AS Computing, AS ICT, National Award Games Programming.
Alternatively, you may be able to enter a career in PC Maintenance, Network Support or Business Administration. You could do an apprenticeship provided you have a job.
