About this course

This level 3 training program is suitable for those who are not yet in a teaching support role and want to gain formal recognition of their skills. There are no entry requirements for this course, which can be studied full-time or part-time.

The qualification is suitable for individuals who:

are not yet in a teaching support role
are new to the industry and want to test their knowledge
have the potential to study at the same level of demand as that of A-levels studies
want a short qualification to gain formal recognition of their skills
successfully completed the level 1 and 2 awards (known as QCF equivalents)

On successful completion of the course, learners can progress to a higher level qualification and will have the fundamental skills and knowledge to fast track a successful career in the education sector. Career opportunities in this field include early years teaching support and SEN teaching.

No placement, voluntary work or previous qualification is required for enrolment.

You will need sufficient numeracy and literacy skills
You should have access to a computer and the internet throughout your study period
You should have the ability to send and receive emails and attachments from your tutor
You should have primary PC skills to navigate our Support Portal well

This is an estimate of the total length of time it is expected that a learner will typically take to achieve and demonstrate the level of attainment necessary for the award of the qualification i.e. to achieve all learning outcomes.

Total Qualification Time is comprised of GLH and an estimate of the number of hours a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study or any other learning including assessment, which takes place as directed by, but not under the supervision of a lecturer, supervisor or tutor. The credit value, where given, for a qualification is determined by TQT, as one credit corresponds to 10 hours of learning.

Total Qualification time is 390 hours.
