Teaching English Pathway - Access to Higher Education Diploma (Education)
Do you have a passion for the written word? Do you also aspire to be a teacher? If the answer to both of these questions is yes, this could be the perfect course for you. The Access to HE Diploma (Education) – Teaching English Pathway combines teaching modules and literature and language modules, allowing students to gain insight into the world of teaching English.
As a whole, this course appeals to students who wish to pursue teaching, but have a specific interest in English literature and language. The course combines everything from modules in behaviour problems in the classroom and child development, to the study of a novel and understanding drama. The qualification has been specifically designed to suit learners who have been away from education for some time.
Unlike traditional courses, you do not have to wait until September to enrol on our Access to HE Diploma. We will give you an individual learning plan which outlines deadlines to be working towards. As you don’t have any classes to worry about attending, you can easily fit this online course around your other commitments and responsibilities, such as work and family.

This is only an approximate figure and is dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper.
The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is: 342 hrs.
