These are valuable in-service courses for existing Skills for Life teachers in ESOL, Literacy and Numeracy and you must be teaching one of these subjects for a minimum of 75 hours in order to gain a place on the course. You will examine the theory and practice of teaching your specialist area to help you gain a better understanding. You will also be observed by your course tutor and mentor. You will need to choose an appropriate mentor as a condition of entry to the course and you may be helped in this process by the course tutor.

The following course, offered by Bradford College, will help you improve your skills and achieve your professional goals. During the program you will study different subjects which are deemed to be useful for those who want to enhance their professional career. You will need to pass an initial assessment of your personal skills in Literacy or Numeracy first. If you are concerned about the level of your skills or would like to gain some subject knowledge before starting access one of our Level 3 bridging courses starting in January.
