Team Leading

Who is it for?

This programme is for a practising team leader, whose work involves the application of knowledge and skills in a significant range of varied work activities, performed in a variety of contexts, and some of which are complex or non-routine, and who has some degree of personal autonomy and responsibility, and collaborates with others through membership of a team.

Course aims

• To provide ongoing opportunities for staff involved in the team leading / management functions to develop their practical competence in the workplace to nationally determined and recognised standards
• To motivate participants to engage in developmental activity, based on their existing competence, personal career goals and the demands of the workplace
• To enable employers to identify participants' current potential and their development needs within the team leading/management functions

The course is accredited by ILM.

Course content

The course consists of 4 mandatory units and 2 optional units selected from 5.

• Provide leadership for your team
• Develop productive working relationships with colleagues

• Encourage innovation in your team
• Allocate and check work in your team
• Provide learning opportunities for colleagues
