What will I study on the course?
You will study horse behaviour, riding on the flat, horse handling, feeding and watering, industrial experience, grooming, plaiting and trimming, saddlery and equipment and lunging.
The course runs for 3 days per week over 1 Year.Students could follow the Certificate in Horse Care or the Extended Certificate in Horse Care which would involve them.Students will also be required to attend duties as part of their course.
You will need to have a standard of general education and competence, sufficient to benefit from and succeed on the course. Assessment of suitability is likely to be based on GCSE grades (minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade A - D). Students who wish to pursue the riding option must have a good standard of basic riding, including walk, trot and canter. There is also a weight limit. There is a non-riding option available for those who do not wish to undertake the riding module.
