Course structure This course is delivered through lectures, case studies of explosive evaluation, and practical/demonstration on the range with a data acquisition workshop.

Course programme
On completion of the course the delegates will:
- Understand the requirement for test arena set up
- Be able to discuss the differences between UN and IM testing
- Understand equipment requirements for measuring explosives for performance
- Derive statistical errors associated with experimental data
- Have an awareness of UK approaches to testing procedures.

- Stability and compatibility of energetic components
- Engineering Instrumentation and techniques for measuring output from explosives and their articles
- Summary of small arms, gun systems, rockets and pyrotechnics measuring in their expected outputs

- Range Management Requirements
- Practical Planning, preparation, testing and reporting of trials requirements.
This short course, which will be taught at MSc standard, is one of the modules that comprise the MSc Explosives Ordnance Engineering.
