Summary

This subject will help you to develop a working knowledge of materials, practises and processes in contemporary textiles. The skills learnt are used to interpret and express ideas. There is a strong element of contextual research and analysis and students are encouraged to research analyse and respond to the work of artists. Practical skills include; printing, dyeing, hand and machine stitch, felt and paper making and weaving.

Progression Textiles can be taken with any subjects, but students often choose to combine it with other visual disciplines such as; Art, Photography, Media Studies or Film Studies.
