TEXTILES/MIXED CRAFTS (LEISURE)

Course Aims:
The aim of the course is to introduce students to a variety of mixed craft skills and techniques, including 2D and 3D design, colour theory and design principals. Textiles ideas will be generated to produce wonderful decorative products for the home or special gifts for loved ones; soft furnishing, cards, wall hangings or painted panels.

Course Content:
With support and guidance from your tutor, you will familiarise yourself with craft materials, resources, tools and equipment. Textiles, Felt-making, Batik painting and Silk painting are some of the crafts to be explored. You will be encouraged to investigate different materials and techniques to allow you to take ideas forward for creative development. You will also cover Health and Safety procedures relevant to the craft.
