Course Title TEXTILES - SILK PAINTING (LEISURE)

Course Aims:
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the design process, how to research and take design ideas through to development and final craft. To gain competence in Silk Painting, creating modern and traditional designs. Learn how to use colour creatively and apply it to textiles using a variety of techniques. Students can create their own chosen products including wall hangings, Fabric Painted panels, soft-furnishings or fashion articles

Course Content:
To decorate silk fabric using a variety of techniques; Using resist, free style fabric painting, marbling, printing, embroidery and batik etc. Basic design principles and colour theory will also be covered. Safety, identification, of tools and equipment / material, design, shape, colour and texture will be covered.
In friendly groups you can work at your own pace with tutors demonstrations, help and guidance.
