Texture And Colour In Jewellery

This course will offer an exciting introduction into the various techniques of adding texture and colour to jewellery. If you want to learn new techniques in these areas or improve your existing skills, this is the course for you. Students will work in copper, brass and silver with the aim of creating several imaginative and colourful pieces of jewellery.

Topics covered

We will explore etching, roller-texturing, reticulation, achieving patinas through heat and chemicals, basic enamelling and the application of gold and copper leaf.

The basic skills of sawing, filing and soldering will be covered for those new to jewellery

More experienced students will be encouraged to design and produce their own work incorporating the various texturing and colouring processes.

Entry requirements: None

Level: Beginners as well as students with some previous experience of jewellery making.
