The tinsmith or tinsmith is the one who works the metal sheet in general, using manual tools or machines such as the bending machine. Tinsmiths can make sheet metal pipes and fittings, manufacture casings at an industrial level and, once upon a time, repair car bodies. There are also construction tinsmiths, generally artisans who bend sheets of copper, steel, aluminum and other metals to make roofs of houses, gutters, flashings, roofs, tomb covers, crypts and copper cradles. Companies specialized in the sheet metal sector have been born, more precisely they are companies that provide the finished roof complete with everything, starting from the removal and disposal of asbestos sheets, to the remaking of the gutters, installation of dormers and chimneys up to the installation of modern insulated panels for roofing. These companies also take care of the bureaucratic part required by law and even the safety of the construction site. There are only a few craftsmen left who still carry out the work of the tinsmith with mastery, which requires great manual skill. The tinsmith takes care of manufacturing, installing and repairing sheet metal elements: for this reason he is also called sheet metal worker. Sheet metal is a metal plate made of steel, aluminum, iron, copper or other metals, used in the production of ducts for heating and air conditioning systems, in the construction of roofs and roofs for buildings, gutters, but also in the manufacture car and vehicle bodywork, and in the production of metal signs and coatings for various uses. The areas of work of a sheet metal worker are mainly three: the production, installation and maintenance of sheet metal elements.
