Aims and Objectives
Describe the Tivoli Storage Manager components and related products Install.
Customise and implement Tivoli Storage Manager.
Manage the Tivoli Storage Manager server.
Manage the Tivoli Storage Manager server database and recovery log to perform backup and archive operations.
Perform administrator functions such as managing the Tivoli Storage Manager server database, recovery log, storage pools, policies and schedules.
Perform backup-archive client functions such as backup, restore, archive and retrieve.

Target Audiences
Windows NT/2000 and UNIX including the SSL web administrative interface.

Prerequisites
Before attending this course delegates should have a good understanding of the role of a systems administrator and have worked in a systems support environment. Knowledge of system administration tasks on UNIX or Microsoft Windows NT systems is also desirable.
