The tool maker is the one who, in the mechanical industry, is involved in the production and development of the tools indispensable for the profession. A tool (also a tool or equipment if it refers to an assembly composed of several elements) generally indicates a tool used in applied mechanics, used to perform a specific manual processing. Tool is a term also used outside the original and traditional context (for example: sport, art, ordinary language) to generically mean "tool", "means", "tool" even if not material. The use of tools and instruments to facilitate manual work dates back to the Stone Age. At that time, men began to make primitive knives to cut leather, animal meats and more. The first tools that exploited a mechanical action date back to the Alexandrian periods of ancient Greece and their greater use spread with the advent of the Middle Ages. In this era, the energy of water and wind has been exploited with increasingly complex equipment.
