Course description
Based in Burghfield House, The North Highland College, the course will be offered on a full time or part time basis, over three academic sessions for the ordinary degree course on a full time basis, or four years for the honours course, from September to June. It will take longer if studied part time.
Course content
The programme is designed to develop the knowledge and management and leadership skills required for a career in the tourism and hospitality industry. There is a focus on practical experience complemented by academic study, some of it on-line; and the course examines such contemporary issues as event management, tourism and communities and competing in a global tourism economy.
Opportunities
Wide variety of employment opportunities in tourism and hospitality: work in hotel management, event management, run a small tourism or hospitality business or work for a public sector agency such as Historic Scotland or VisitScotland. Masters level study.
