This course builds on delegate's system administration experience with Oracle Solaris 10 and provides the skills and knowledge required for transitioning from Oracle Solaris 10 to Oracle Solaris 11. This course is intended for System Administrators and IT architects who are responsible for planning and performing transitioning tasks. During this course, delegates examine various aspects of planning for the transition from Oracle Solaris 10 to Oracle Solaris 11. This course highlights the new features delivered with Oracle Solaris 11 including Automated Installer (AI), Image Packaging System (IPS), and network virtualization. Throughout the course, delegates practice transitioning to the Oracle Solaris 11 operating environment by performing a series of guided hands-on labs that walk them through the critical tasks associated with operating system migration activities. These labs include case studies that showcase best practices when transitioning from Oracle Solaris 10 to Oracle Solaris 11. This course focuses on the new and enhanced features found in the Oracle Solaris 11 operating system. It assumes the delegate already has the skills and knowledge necessary for administering Oracle Solaris 10.
