Transport Management BSc (Hons) equips you with a thorough and practical knowledge of the economic, social and technological aspects of the main modes of transport, so that you will be able to play a full part in their future development.
Transport Management BSc covers the principles of managing the human and technical resources required in operating transport systems and the importance of transport in relation to the economy and society.
This is examined in terms of the numerous benefits and costs of transport in general and of the relative merits of the different methods of moving passengers and freight.
The course is multidisciplinary, embracing the fundamental principles and applications of planning, management, economics and technology. The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

In year 1, you will study a range of topic areas incorporating introductory knowledge of transport systems and technology, management, economics, and communication and learning skills. You will also have the opportunity to choose an optional 1 language module which equates to 10 credits.

Year 2 builds on the core knowledge and skills developed in the first year. Topics studied will include transport planning, quantitative analysis, supply chain management, global logistics, transport economics and transport research methods. Options in year 2 amount to 30 credits in total, and include up to two language module options.

The final academic year is all about developing specialist skills and expertise in key transport and related fields such as transport policy, public transport operations, and transport demand management. There is also a substantial transport project. In year 3 you will have the opportunity to choose two optional modules from five which equates to 20 credits. This gives you the option to tailor the course to suit your interests.
