This is definitely your best option if you want to bring out your passion for cars and turn it into your future career. You will get in close contact with the automotive industry. This programme provides an insight into aesthetics and practical functions of vehicles, but most importantly you will understand how designers can be key players involved across all the steps of a project. For the next three years your home will be in Turin, the world capital of car design and a permanent reference mark for the whole industry. As part of your training, you will have the opportunity to develop your own methods, skills and, most importantly, your personal approach to project design. This will be possible as you engage in partnerships, meetings and projects with customers in real life, including some of the most important automotive companies. As a result, you will grow and develop critical and open-minded thinking, and you will be ready to take on the challenges of a fast-changing world where technology is always on the move.

About this course
The three-year Transportation Design degree programme at IED Torino is for students who want to turn their passion for cars into a career, dreaming of a future with job opportunities as Exterior Car Designers, Interior Car Designers, Automotive Interaction Designers, Motorcycle Designers, Yacht Designers, 3D car modellers, Visualizers, Mobility System Designers, Colour and Trim Designers. You will not need any specific requirements to access this programme: if you have a high school diploma and if you dream of creating the next generations of Lamborghini or Ferrari, then this is the best opportunity for you. Also, if you have a passion for new technologies, if all you do is thinking about the future of mobility and if car design has always been your ambition, this programme will give you an insight into the multiple facets of the industry from a broad and multidisciplinary perspective. Over the three years of study, you will understand why the Transportation Designer is a dynamic professional who plays a key role in urban development, with a strong focus on continuous research and understanding of society.
Title - The First Level Academic Diploma is recognized by MIUR (Ministry for Education, University and Research) and equated with the Bachelor’s Degree issued by Universities.
Methodology and structure - Methodology deals with a daily comparison between theoretical skills techniques and real applications in various projects. Students are spurred to acquire operative autonomy, make coherent and sustained choices, establish relationships with real customers and take on specific responsibilities. This semi-professional experience represents a winning card for graduates when they enter the working world. Students gain operational autonomy, managing independently a designing path, in particular the step dedicated to concept development meant as creative and formal synthesis of the project idea. Students have also the chance to deepen technical and instrumental tools connected to bike design and yacht design through a partially custom-made study plan. Students can develop a Final Project in bike design or yacht design, alternatively to car design.
