About this course

Progression and Employment:
Successful completion of the BTEC Diploma will qualify students for entry to HNDs and Degree courses in related subjects. Also careers directly related to travel and tourism e.g. Tour operators, travel agents, holiday reps, tourist information centres, hotel and hospitality work and public relations.

  • The overall aim of the course is to provide a broad based introduction to the study of travel and tourism
  • Students with appropriate qualifications can choose to study an AS/A Level subjects in conjunction with this course (subject to timetable restrictions). Students could do a combination of 6 units alongside an AS/A Level subject.
  • Additional qualifications such as an Agored Cymru Language unit can be studied e.g. Spanish conversation.
  • In addition to this course, students will study six essential skills

Learners will study the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate alongside this qualification.

Method of Assessment The course is continually assessed through assignments and course work. No written external tests.
