2. Course description This course is designed to give candidates an introduction to the Travel and Tourism industry. Typical job opportunities that successful candidates could progress into could be:Working in a travel agentsWorking as a resort representativeWorking for an airline - including cabin crew*Please note: some opportunities may have age restrictions Trips to various travel and tourism facilities are also an integral part of the course. Previously, we have visited several key sites in: London, Majorca, Mykonos, Gran Canaria, Bath, Thorpe Park, cruise ships and places of interest on the coast and in the countryside.

3. Entry requirements 4 GCSEs at grade D or above (including Maths and English) or equivalentA good referenceA satisfactory interview 4. Equipment required You will be expected to pay £300 towards the cost of the off-site activities and £40 for your uniform - there are funds available to help students with these costs in cases of financial hardship as well as subsidised transport costs from the college should require it.As a full-time student at Wiltshire College, you will be supported throughout your course by either a Personal Tutor, Academic Advisor or Learning Mentor and will receive one to one tutorials at least 6 times a year with your allocated member of staff.The purpose of your one to one tutorial is to ensure that you are making the necessary progress towards the achievement of your main qualification aim and to address any academic or personal issues that you may wish to raise.In addition you will be encouraged to undertake enrichment activities and events or complete a Personal and Social Development qualification that will help you grow and prosper as an individual, thereby supporting your progression opportunities into further study, training or employment. 5. Assessment method You will be assessed using a variety of methods including written assignments, case studies and verbal presentations. Candidates will also undertake functional skills alongside their course should they not meet the minimum standard on English and maths.There are no formal exams included as part of your main programme, however students are required to research and study for assignments at home which is essential in order to achieve the final qualification.
