Who The Course is for
This course is an ideal qualification for those students who want a broad background in Travel and Tourism and thinking of working in this expanding industry. Students will be encouraged to understand the importance of marketing and customer service in the travel and tourism industry. They will improve their knowledge of the major European and long-haul destinations for UK tourists and they will be given the opportunity to learn about the impact of tourism development and prepare for employment within the industry.

Course Content
Throughout the course you will develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life. You will cover a variety of modules such as:
- The Travel and Tourism Industry.
- The Business of Travel and Tourism.
- Marketing Travel and Tourism Products Services.
- Tourist Destinations.
- Customer Services in Travel and Tourism.
- Working in the Travel and Tourism Industry.
Students will choose 12 specialist units.
You will also be given the opportunity to gain additional qualifications such as:
- Air Cabin Crew Course
- Overseas rep.
- Tourism Key Skills - Communication, IT

On completion of the National Diploma, students can progress onto a relevant degree at a Higher Education institute.
If you successfully complete a level 3 course at Skelmersdale & Ormskirk College we will offer you a place on an appropriate Foundation Degree at Newcastle College (subject to satisfactory interview or course audition).
