"The accordaturae is the person who provides for the tuning of musical instruments or a ""tuner"" instrument to facilitate the tuning itself or to measure the intonation. Today there are electronic devices used for the tuning of musical instruments. For acoustic instruments (i.e. non-electronic) there are pocket tuners which by means of a small microphone receive the sound produced by the instrument and indicate the level of the sound frequency and therefore the intonation to be corrected by means of LEDs or needle or digital frequency meters. This type of tuner is frequently used not only to tune instruments, but also to check and correct one's intonation while studying wind, string and singing instruments, in which the intonation is notoriously a difficulty to keep under control. For many electronic instruments, on the other hand, it is sufficient to connect the input of a tuner directly to the output of the amplifier to have the tuner receive and analyze the sounds emitted by the instrument.
