What's it all about?:
If you have to prepare engineering designs, precision drawings or technical illustrations to support the work of engineers, architects or industrial designers, there are times when it is appropriate to create them in 2D. Our course will build upon the experience you already have and build up your bank of working knowledge about the 2D CAD options and techniques. Using a series of best practices, we want you to feel comfortable and confident with whatever CAD option you finally choose.
Courses run in September and January.
Progression:
Successful students can progress to the City & Guilds 4351/03 in 3D CAD.
Entry Requirements:
In our experience in order to be successful on this level of course you will need one of the following:
• equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience
• City & Guilds 4353/01 or eqivalent experience.

What does the course involve?:
The aim of the programme is to provide a good working knowledge of 2D CAD options and techniques. Units include; producing a wide range of drawings, configuring AutoCAD for drawing efficiency, creating symbol libraries, and setting up and work with paper space and model space
.

Various evenings, 5.30pm - 8.30pm
Are there any exams?:
There are an externally set assignments and one exam.
