The concept of ‘design’ now informs every aspect of our daily lives. As interest in this exciting and dynamic area grows, it examines the evolution of modern and contemporary furniture design, from the 1960s until the early twenty-first century. Particular attention is paid to the innovative approaches, materials and techniques employed by, amongst others, such influential figures as Philippe Starck, Marc Newson and Ron Arad.

It is led by Lis Darby, Programme Director of MA in Contemporary Design at Sotheby’s Institute of Art – London.
