Understanding Music (B)

who are therefore interested in exploring the subject at university level and in developing more advanced music literacy skills. It aims to develop skills and knowledge that will help students to get more out of the experience of listening to music. Focusing particularly on Western classical music, the module includes components on music history, acoustics and aesthetics. Some basic formal music education including familiarity with standard Western musical notation is expected.
