Objectives:

  • After studying this course, students will be able to:
  • Demonstrate their understanding of legislation relating to safeguarding children
  • Understand the assessment process
  • Demonstrate their ability to apply theory to their practical work with service users
  • Identify issues which could lead to child protection measures being taken
  • Discuss what steps should be taken when a child’s safety and wellbeing is in question.

Evaluate the effectiveness of legislation and proceedings drawing on conclusions from previous cases.
